A Belcoro package weighing 3 kg has
just 6 piecings for the yarn count of 20 tex (Nm 50 / Ne 30). By
comparison, a package of Ring Spun yarn contains around 80 spliced
joints, 56 of which alone are due to bobbin changing.

be attained on knitting machines.

Knits made from Belcoro yarn are
more uniform due to the uniform tension from the start to the end of
the package and exhibit greater regularity over long lengths.
Fabrics made from
Belcoro yarn behave differently in finishing to those of ring yarn.
If used correctly, a range of advantages can be obtained.
The smaller number of seed fragments
in Belcoro yarn means that less bleaching of the knit fabric
is required.
The greater liquor uptake and
smaller light reflection result in deeper dyeing, which needs
to be taken in to account when producing the color formulation.
Thus a dye concentration that is 2 to 4 g per liter lower
produces the same optical impressing compared to ring yarn,
depending on the dye. Many customers have had savings of around
10 % on dye, depending on the shade, which makes a significant
difference when the annual dye consumption runs up to several
million DM.
Blending of the fibers is more
uniform in Belcoro-spun yarn. This has a positive effect on
dyeing. Fewer unevenly dyed bars appear in the knit fabric.
The greater stability of the
Belcoro yarns to withstand deformation forces means that, when the
tubular knit fabrics pass through the dyeing machine – with the dye
liquor and the fabric being in constant motion – they have a far
lower tendency to become tangled and knotted than tubular knitted
fabrics made of ring yarn. This stability encourages a good
finished fabric appearance.
Belcoro knits provide a superb
print-prepared fabric owing to the clear fabric appearance.
